Gerline Ramos, Cotillion

And so the big day finally came. It was a blast getting to know the family, the entourage, and the organizers. The event itself was quite possibly the most elegant and extravagent Cotillion that I’ve ever been to, which made covering the event a particular challenge. But ups to the Ramos family for giving us at Lights Out Photography a shot, we definitely hope you like the flicks we dropped off to the house tonight! Special Shout out to Gerline and all of you in the Entrouage. You homies step the Pusoy Dos/Dueces game up! Ryan, see you at your birthday bash next week!

Story of my life.

Representing what is tentatively known as Traeceratops Photography. So I got kinda bored with myself during the shoot and we decided some roles needed to be switched up. At certain points of the day of shooting with Tracey, we thought maybe I should model, and she should shoot. From what I’m understanding, this was her first time with a DSLR. Pretty damn good, huh? It turned into a collaborative effort eventually as I provided the edits. Check out the rest of her set on my flickr.

I woke up to the Roots’ “Rising Down” album the the other day, which promptly triggered me to hop on Youtube to watch some Rik Cordero videos. I definitely love his use of light and how he directs each of his films/music videos, and was inspired to play with my own style of photography and just had to call Tracey to shoot. So definitely much love to her for accommodating a last minute photo run, and getting ready (even with the hair!) in record time.

So after a semester of saying we’d do it, we finally got together and made a photoshoot happen! While everything that could have gone wrong (primarily weather, and the absence of a “really could have used that” 35 mm prime lens that was stolen along with my car a few months ago) went wrong, things finally fell into place. Although we did do three sets, the set done in the backyard, by far, yeilded the best photographs, particularly in the sense that they seem to suit their music the best. The other set was experimenting with lighting, which probably will not see the light of day (sorry y’all!), as well as a rooftop shoot which can be seen on my flickr, along with the other shots from this set.

Other than that, shout outs to Geraldine Punzalan, Tracey Felix, and Janella Valdez! Couldn’t of made this happen without you guys.

Gerline Ramos and Entourage, Beach Shoot

Here are a few flicks from our shoot a few weeks before Gerline’s Cotillion. Shot on the coast of Pacifica, this particular set is utilizing a slight left of center edit. Shout out to the Entourage! Chillin’ with y’all was great! Shout out to Jared for help with the edit!

Fun night to shoot! These are some of my favorites from the night. These were eventually used for the slideshow that was presented Gerline’s Cotillion. Entourage and event photographs coming from my camera will be up soon!

Dane San Pedro

So it was a fun day, not only did we do a shoot with MissCarolineXOXO on Tracey’s roof, but later in the day we also did a shoot for Dane inside the house. There were plenty of interesting shots as he went through some of his routines right there in the dining room. It was also super fun to see some of Dane’s material as the tricks he does just might really blow your mind away. That said, if y’all are looking for a magician at your event, hit me up and I can definitely connect you with him. Same goes for MissCarolineXOXO.
